Laminate House

This design was completed as part of the MASTERcrit, a week long design charette with Michael Meredith and Hilary Sample of MOS architects.

This project, situated in the neighborhood of the Menil Foundation in Houston, Tx dealt with the garage apartment housing type. Research into this typology, and proximity to the art community surrounding the Menil allowed a dissection of this traditionally under-designed dwelling. Idealized as temporary housing for artists, this house confronts the issues of privacy and performance, playing with visibilities, lighting and perforation to create a dwelling that can come alive and strengthen the Menil neighborhood.
